Real-Time Rendering: navigate within your project in high-quality 3D!

With Real-Time Rendering (RTR), you can now navigate through your DomuS3D project in high-quality 3D without waiting for the processing time of a traditional rendering image.

Real-Time Rendering (RTR) is a feature of DomuS3D that lets users navigate in real-time within their project in extremely high-quality 3D. Within just a few seconds, RTR allows users to move within the room they’ve created, so they can explore and admire the materials, finishes, lights, shadows, and reflections within their project, all while viewing in realistic 3D. And, as the name reveals, they can do this all in real-time.

This makes RTR one of the most interesting new features included within DomuS3D, as it gives designers a quick way to instantly show their project to a client, without compromising on graphic quality. Designers can use RTR to realistically “place” their clients within a room, letting them move around and explore each and every detail.

Designers can even use a dual monitor setup so they can continue to make changes as requested by the client by using the technical interface of the program on one screen, while showing their client the realistic 3D preview of their work on the other screen.

RTR can also be used to generate a quick high-quality 3D preview of a project before processing a final photorealistic rendering. Real-Time Rendering lets designers and clients evaluate the look and feel of materials and lighting within a scene with just a few seconds of load time.

In the 2022 version of DomuS3D, the graphic quality of RTR has been further increased by using ray-tracing, available for computers that have latest generation NVIDIA RTX graphics cards.

Let’s now take a look at the main options of RTR to see how it can best be used by DomuS3D designers.

Once Real-Time Rendering has been launched from within DomuS3D, its own window will open where it is possible to navigate around the room scene by using the mouse or the keyboard. In the top right of the screen, you’ll see a menu with various options that will help you optimize the visualization of the scene.

First, we can modify the level of graphic quality of the room scene, choosing between low, medium, and high. High-quality is only available for NVIDIA RTX 2060 graphics cards or higher. It is also possible to change the language of RTR and activate the full-screen view mode.

In the “Settings” section of the menu, you can set various parameters to improve the quality of the room scene, such as contrast, exposure, color temperature, and more. Similarly, under “Light Settings”, you can adjust the intensity of each individual light source in your project. Lastly, with the simple “Capture” command, you can take a screenshot and instantly save the current image of your 3D view.

RTR is a very useful tool for designers in the showroom or during a virtual design consultation to share the feeling and spirit of a design project with a client. RTR gives designers a way to show off the specific details of their project, details that, when summed together, form a complete design proposal, tailor-made for the client.
